On Thursday the 14th December, at the Max Webber Library, Blacktown Libraries in partnership with WestWords had the honour of announcing the winners! Please find the results in the tiles below.

When sometimes ‘ordinary’ isn’t enough …

When the ordinary is thrust into exceptional circumstances … transformation happens.

When what we think is amazing hides a simple truth,

or the everyday is more incredible than what we could ever imagine … 

 

We are looking for short works & poetry responding to the theme: EXTRAordinary.

Important dates for entrants 

Entries close midnight, Monday 2 October, 2023. 

Winners will be announced at the presentation ceremony.

Presentation date: Thursday 14 December, 2023 at 6 pm to 7 pm.

Venue: Max Webber Library Function Centre, Level 1, Corner Flushcombe Road and Alpha Street, Blacktown.

The poems (max 25 lines) and short stories (up to 500 words) must be works of fiction, and respond to the theme EXTRAordinary.

They will be judged in the following age categories:

8-11 years
12-14 years
15-17 years
and adult (18+)
