Consultations are an opportunity to speak directly with a published, practicing artist about your project, your work practice and/or your career options. From what you submit to us we will select the best person for you from our bank of experienced authors, illustrators and editors to give you the guidance you need.

How does it work?

First, you fill out the questionnaire below to help us provide you with the best possible guidance. This will help the consultant enormously.

A week before the scheduled consultation you provide up to 1,500 words of material (synopsis, sample writing, excerpt) to your consultant, along with a letter of introduction from us outlining the kind of advice you need.

At an agreed time you and the consultant “meet” via Skype/Facetime/Zoom/phone for up to 60 minutes.

Further consultations can be negotiated if both parties are agreeable. Each of these will include the same word-count of submitted material and the same length of discussion.

It will be your responsibility to take notes during the consultation: written reports are not included in the rate, but may be available on negotiation.

How much does it cost?

Initial consultation $85
Initial consultation and 30 minute follow-up consultation $135
