To celebrate the launch of Campbelltown Writers’ Retreat at Wedderburn WestWords hosted a 3-hour writing workshop with acclaimed writer Carol Baxter, focussing on creative non-fiction techniques and the writing of compelling histories.

Carol is a Fellow of the Society of Australian Genealogists and one of the country’s leading genealogical researchers. She describes her work as true-crime thrillers which tell the stories of “ordinary individuals who had such an extraordinary impact on their world that the consequences changed the course of history.” Carol is widely published in Australia, most recently with The Fabulous Flying Mrs Miller which has been reviewed as “spellbinding” and “unputdownable”.

The Campbelltown Writer’s Retreat at Wedderburn is a dedicated space for writers of any genre to focus on themselves and their work away from the distractions of daily life. Set in bushland, the facility is 12km from Campbelltown CBD and is complete with desks, fully equipped kitchen and wi-fi.
