ModWordz! Zine ‘17 Experimental Writing Workshop
One big day of inspiring, creative writing for kids aged 9-12!
During the Term 3 school holidays last year, WestWords in conjunction with Harry Laing, kids’ poet and rapper extraordinaire, ran a day long experimental wordfest and zine making adventure at the Penrith Regional Gallery & Lewers Bequest. In this five hour workshop kids created their own way out zines with a modernist theme – the only writing rules were break the rules! The results were truly phenomenal with one parent saying “the girls had an absolutely fantastic time on Thursday. They rated it 10/10 and said it was the best holiday workshop they’ve ever done (and they’ve done a few)!”
Get Abstract. Experiment, think geo-met-ric constructivism. Add some colour …and then some light, like a poke in the eye? That isn’t right!!
