Hemingway’s Polydactyl Kitten Club and Speakeasy

Join us on the first Monday of the month for Hemingway’s Polydactyl Kitten Club & Speakeasy, a spoken word event held in the intimate art-deco setting of the Avalon Cocktail Bar, Katoomba.

Against the kitsch-chic of the Avalon Cocktail Bar in Katoomba, the Kitten Club is a monthly spoken word event, where the audience is encouraged to share their own work, whilst also hearing from an invited guest. Guests in 202 included musician and poet Kate Fagan, illustrator, editor and author Tohby Riddle, and poet Mark Tredinnick.


When: 7.00 – 9.00, Monday 2nd March
Where: Avalon, 18 Katoomba St, Katoomba.
Cost: Cash entry of $10 ($5 concession).

LAURA GREAVES is a multi award-winning author, journalist and editor with more than 20 years’ experience as a professional writer in Australia and the UK. She is the author of three novels, four nonfiction books, and a nonfiction book for children, all published by Penguin Random House. Laura’s work has also been published in the UK, Mexico, Hungary, Russia and the Czech Republic. Laura is also currently working on a PhD in creative writing. She lives in the Blue Mountains.
