Description
WestWords’ African Literature Development Program came about when three Western Sydney- based members of – and advocates for – the African-Australian community met with WestWords in our Centre for Writing in Parramatta. In keeping with WestWords’ needs-based approach, the proposal was to form a partnership that would fill a specific need – to provide skills development and publishing opportunities to the African-Australian community. The principle of empowering people to tell their own stories with clarity, heart and authenticity is at the core of this – and every – program WestWords does.
We’d like to thank the African Australian Advocacy Centre for their support and, once again, the Adès Family Foundation whose generous financial support has made this possible.
