Disappearing-Western-Sydney

The Disappearing 2.0

Over the past year, WestWords have teamed up with The Red Room Company to commission ten emerging and early career poets to map poetic traces and vanishing spaces of Western Sydney.

From fading take away stores to fireplaces and fragmented houses, discover hidden histories of western Sydney as penned by poets Eunice Andrade, Maryam Azam, Miro Bilbrough, Nova Brown Longhurst, Rico Craig, Andrew Galan, Josephine Parsons, Omar Sakr, Todd Turner and Hamish Wood.

In the middle of the year, we continued this wonderful project by recording each poet delivering their poetry. You can listen to their readings, and read their work, at The Disappearing.

This project has been part of the wider project The Disappearing run by The Red Room Company where you can discover a huge range of place-centric poetry, an alternative travel guide that preserves and shares experiences, emotions and ideas that vanish over time.

This project is presented in collaboration with The Red Room Company.
